One of the great party sing-along songs of the 1960’s. If the party has started to slow down, get Sir Tom on the turntable and watch everyone start to join in.
Ironically, we all get very excited about a bloke who goes and murders his girlfriend … probably not an ideal circumstance to be singing about.
A piece of trivia about this song is that one of the backing singers is Reginald Dwight … better known these days as Sir Elton John. Imagine telling someone in 1968 that not one, but two, knights of the realm are singing on this track!
