The Cyrkle were a band from Pennsylvania who ended up being managed by The Beatles’ manager, Brian Epstein. The unusual spelling of their name was suggested by none other than John Lennon. The Cyrkle supported The Beatles on the 1966 US tour and were on the bill for the last ever Beatles concert at Candlestick Park in August 1966.

The song was co-written by Paul Simon (of Simon and Garfunkel fame) and Bruce Woodley from the Seekers when they both in London in the mid-1960’s. It didn’t quite hit the top 40 in Australia but I think it’s a great example of a short pop song with some pretty handy involvement from members of The Beatles, The Seekers and Simon and Garfunkel.

Certainly worth a listen if you have not heard it before.
