This song is the only one to have been included in this countdown as two different versions – the 1961 Ben E. King version and the 1975 John Lennon.

It is a song that is a staple of the classic rock radio stations and gets a run on television advertisements for banks, insurances companies and other similar businesses.

And yet, King’s version reached number 43 and Lennon’s an even poorer outcome – number 60.

Another one that seems to be heard regularly and would have been more successful than these results in most people’s memories.
