Another Beatles masterpiece found on the Sgt Pepper album, demonstrating some of the creative freedoms that they were able to performs once they have finished touring. The backing track includes the collation of music recorded to tape, cut into short strips and then stuck back together, giving the randomness of the backing tune.
I also love the carnival sound that is evident throughout. Given that the song was based on the contents of a carnival poster, it seems appropriate.
Certainly a song that deserves to be in the middle section of the Beatles Top 30 countdown!
