This one is unusual in so much as the single was a double A sided record, providing us with two excellent songs – but it was the only time that Boz Scaggs made into the Australian charts. When you think about how many of us owned a copy of the iconic 1976 album Silk Degrees, that is a staggering statistic. This was an album that stayed in the Billboard charts for over three years and yet many of the singles on the album failed to even chart in Australia. This was Scaggs’s seventh album, so there had been plenty of opportunities but only this one made the grade.

I’ve chosen Lido Shuffle to be the featured video on this post – it was a flip of the coin – but in the end, the phrase used in the second verse “that’s all she wrote” has become a sign-off phrase for me on Radio Ga Ga and so, we’ll lump for Lido.

A fantastic song taken from one of the most popular albums of the 1970’s.
