Martha Davis was the lead singer for the Motels in the early 1980’s and produced this gem three years after her final Motels charting hit. Very similar in style to the Motels work (think Total Control and Only The Lonely – no, not the Roy Orbison song), there is something quite unique about Davis’s voice.
The song itself is a solid rock tune with a tiny bit of female aggro, not dissimilar in some ways to the attitude that Suzi Quatro delivered in the mid to late 1970’s.
So, I present the song as number 18 and with not much more than it’s a great song, sung by a performer with a great voice.
