It is said that this song was written as a direct contrast to Scott McKenzie’s “San Francisco” – I’m not sure whether that is true or another of the myriad urban myths that abound in the world of music.

Eiher way, it’s a really sweet melody, featuring the inimitable harmonies of Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb – the likes of which we are unlikely to hear within the current crop of artists.

Great song but, if it is an answer song to McKenzie’s masterpiece, their relative rankings in this countdown will tell you which I prefer.
