Well, here we go – it was a number one hit for local radio presenter Bob Hudson. A mock-umentary, if you will, about the goings-on of your people in Newcastle in the mid to late 1970’s.

I’m not sure that the Novacastrians would be thrilled with how their city was presented 40 years ago but it was a bit of fun. For the record, the Parthenon Milk Bar is no longer on Hunter Street and, in fact, Hunter Street is now, in part, a pedestrian mall.

Newcastle is a great place now and nothing like what it was back then in the 1970’s, so this now becomes an amusing insight into life back then!
